New stairs and railings, measured to the opening that’s actually there.
Retrofit work lives or dies on the measurement. We take our own on site rather than working from plans, then build to what we found. Prestige has been manufacturing interior stairs and railings in Calgary since 1989.
New interior stairs and railings. Straight, spiral, curved, traditional wood and open-riser floating staircases. Railings in wood, glass and metal, or combinations. Horizontal railings are a standard offering.
Wood components are custom-milled in our Calgary shop using Poplar, Maple, Red Oak, White Oak, Walnut, or Fir. Glass options include 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 20mm thicknesses. Metal finishes are available in Raven Black (Satin Black), Carbide Black (Textured Black), Gun Metal Grey, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Brushed Chrome, Gold, Stainless Steel, and Spindle Bronze. All metal and glass components are manufactured to specification by our suppliers.
Manufacturing in Calgary. Installing across Calgary and surrounding areas including Canmore, and Edmonton and surrounding areas.
We typically need about three weeks’ notice to book an installation, with specifications and pricing confirmed before that window opens.
This is new interior-only supply-and-install work. We do not provide exterior work, demolition or disposal, refinishing of existing stairs, or in-house engineering. Components are delivered ready for site-finishing by your painting or staining trades.
We work with renovation and remodel contractors putting new stairs and railings into existing homes, where the opening, the framing and the floor levels are whatever the last renovation left behind.

Every project is measured on site by our team directly from the existing framing and opening. On retrofit projects, original architectural plans are often inaccurate or unavailable, and precise site measurements are essential to ensure a proper fit.
We manufacture and install all components, leaving the installation ready for site finishing. This allows your finishing trades to stain or paint the staircase on site to match existing interior woodwork.
Manufacturing and installation typically require a three-week lead time once specifications and pricing are confirmed, allowing you to sequence trade schedules accurately.
Quality control performs an inspection within 24 hours of installation. Minor adjustments are resolved immediately, and any larger items are formally scheduled for prompt completion. All projects include digital records for handover and are backed by a one-year warranty.
We review projects via tender requests and direct contractor engagements. Engagement can occur during initial design or after structural framing is complete.
We complete field verification and generate 3D renderings to confirm design details prior to fabrication. Specifications and pricing are finalized before production scheduling begins.
All designs are reviewed for local building code compliance. Prestige does not provide in-house engineering or stamped engineering drawings; structural sign-off remains the responsibility of the general contractor or client.
Wood components are custom-milled in our Calgary facility. Metal and glass components are made to specification by our supply partners and assembled locally.
Installation crews fit stairs and railings on site and prepare the completed assembly for site-finishing trades.
A quality control representative inspects the installation within 24 hours to review the work.

No. We supply and install new stairs and railings. We don’t refinish, sand, stain or re-tread an existing staircase. If a client wants their current stairs refreshed rather than replaced, a refinishing specialist is the right call.
No. We specialize strictly in interior stairs and railings. We do not manufacture or install exterior decks, porches, or outdoor railing systems.
No. Demolition and disposal must be completed by the contractor or client prior to our installation team arriving on site.
Yes on the fit and the material, we measure the opening ourselves and build to it, and you choose the species and profile to suit what’s already there. On colour, we hand over ready for finishing, so your painter matches it on site to the existing trim.
Typically about three weeks. That window covers manufacturing and scheduling, and it starts once specifications and pricing are confirmed.
The renovation contractor or their client. We check the design against current building codes as we draw it, but engineering drawings and approvals are obtained on your side.
Our quality control team comes back within 24 hours of the install. Small repairs are handled on the spot; anything larger is scheduled as a return visit. Every project carries a one-year guarantee.
