Manufacturing Capabilities & Service Scope

Product Line & Custom Fabrication

Interior stairs and railings. Custom, spiral, curved, wood, and open-riser floating staircases. Floating stairs are fabricated using wood and metal only. Wood components are crafted from species such as Poplar, Maple, Red Oak, White Oak, Walnut, and Fir most often, with other species available on request. Railings are crafted in wood, metal, glass, or multi-material combinations, such as a wood top rail with metal balusters or glass with a wood cap. We offer eight finishes on select spindle profiles: Raven Black (Satin Black), Carbide Black (Textured Black), Gun Metal Grey, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Brushed Chrome, Gold, Stainless Steel, and Spindle Bronze.

Wood components are milled in our Calgary shop, our only fully in-house manufacturing process. All metal components and glass are sourced from outside local suppliers and fabricated to our specifications. Final assembly takes place in our Calgary shop before shipping components to Edmonton for installation.

You can typically book your installation with about three weeks’ notice, starting once you confirm specifications and pricing. This window covers manufacturing your components and scheduling the crew.

We hand over ready for finishing, so your painter matches the colour on site to the trim already in your house. We do not provide in-house engineering, and drawings and approvals are obtained on your side. We do not refinish, sand, stain, or re-tread existing staircases. We do not handle demolition or disposal; removing the existing staircase or railing is the responsibility of the contractor or homeowner. We do not offer any exterior, deck, balcony, patio, or outdoor work in any material.

How We Work

01

At Tender or Planning

Most of our builder work comes through tenders and long-standing relationships. We welcome being brought in early with drawings rather than after openings are framed.

02

Design & Specification

We take on-site measurements and produce 3D renderings so stairs and railings are fully agreed upon before manufacturing begins. Specifications and pricing are finalized at this stage to initiate the three-week scheduling window.

03

Code & Engineering

Designs are checked against current building codes as drawings are produced. Engineering drawings and code approvals remain the responsibility of you or your contractor, with structural sign-off provided by your project engineer.

04

Manufacturing

Wood components are milled in our Calgary shop. All metal components are sourced from outside suppliers and made to our specifications, while glass is fabricated by a local supplier. Final assembly takes place in Calgary.

05

Installation

Components are fitted by installers trained in our facility. Projects are handed over ready for your finishing trades.

06

Post-Installation

A quality control team visits the site 24 hours after installation. Small repairs are handled on-site, and larger items are scheduled for a follow-up visit.

Our Operational Commitments

Four operational standards for every project.

FAQs

What project volume can you handle?

That depends on the unit count, the phasing and the specification, so it’s a conversation rather than a number. Send us the program and we’ll tell you straight whether it’s a fit. We’d rather say no early than take on something that doesn’t work for either of us.

Typically about three weeks, starting from confirmed specifications and pricing. That covers manufacturing the components and scheduling the crew.

We run paperless with a complete audit trail and full documentation of what was specified and installed, and every project carries a one-year guarantee.

You or your contractor. We check designs against current building codes as we draw them, but Prestige does not provide in-house engineering, and drawings and approvals are obtained on your side.

Yes, and we’re associated with BILD Calgary.

No. Stairs and railings are handed over ready for finishing, so your finishing trades take it from there.

Aluminum components are available depending on the job, sourced from outside suppliers to our specifications.

We offer 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 20mm glass depending on the application, fabricated by a local supplier. We provide both framed options (using a shoe base channel along the bottom of the panel) and frameless options (using standoffs anchored into the side of the structure, with no frame at the glass edges).
